This has been here a long time and to be honest I was unaware that it was a so called "Head Shop". In fact, I did not know what a head shop was until about six months ago.

My camera attracts a lot of attention and while most of it is good humored and from people who are interested there is an increasing number of unpleasant encounters and sadly these more than cancel out the pleasant ones. A few weeks ago someone with a Cork accent said "Go home you big fat Yank".

Today was not a good day as there were two unpleasant events.

The gentleman in this photograph was standing at the entrance to a taxi agency prior to approached me asking me what I was "up to", this sometimes happens when people who are claiming the dole and who are actually working are afraid about appearing in photographs. When I explained what I was doing he indicated that I did not have permission to take photographs on Parnell street and that I was to stop doing so immediately, he was confident about this claim and kept insisting that I cease. I suspect that he had originally thought that I was a tourist and that he was planning some sort of scam.

He became fairly aggressive and followed me along the street for some distance and kept popping up in front of the camera. As he was so keen to be photographed I decided to grant his wish.
