When I drop in a standard DVD and choose “display” in the upper left corner it says 420p. When I drop in a Blu Ray DVD and click “display” it still says 420p. I have a Philips 37″ LCD 1080p TV. Any suggestions? I bought a HDMI cable, cheap on the Internet, Could that be the issue?

I’m looking to buy a sony vaio with a blu ray player. What I’m wondering is since you have update the blu ray drive periodically, how do you do it on a laptop?

I thought that was just an artifact produced by cheap point and shoot camera, so I’m really surprised to see it. Must be the nut behind the camera !
Believe me, it’s there !

I was looking to buy my first lens that could capture a bit further. I thought I was confident in the sony lens, but then I found the tamron. It’s a lot cheaper and has an AF switch on the lens. I don’t want someone to just look at the specs and tell me which one is better. Does anyone have experience with these? I have read good reviews on both. The Tamron just looks too good to be true.
