Liverpool hasn’t forgotten the Fab Four and it never will.  The city’s favorite sons remain the focus of many great Liverpool attractions.  These sites are always a hit with tourists and even those who don’t necessarily have a full-blown case of Beatlemania invariably have a great time.

It’s hard to choose between all of the Liverpool attractions celebrating the Beatles, but here are a few of the most popular.

The Beatles Story.  The Beatles Story is a full-fledged museum dedicated to the band.  It traces the history of its members from birth, through the Beatles’ heyday and through their post-Beatles activities.  The museum features impressive twenty-first century technology that creates a fantastic interactive experience.  This attraction is a can’t-miss for anyone with a serious interest in the Beatles.  It takes their story seriously and provides all of the information and artifacts you’d expect from a world-class niche museum.

The Cavern Club.  The original Cavern Club was the Beatles’ launching pad.  They played several hundred shows in the Liverpool club.  The Club was razed in the 1970s, but the replacement uses the old joint’s bricks, features some great Beatles memorabilia and carries on the tradition of featuring live music from the area’s up and coming musicians.  It may not be the same structure, but the Cavern Club is in the same place, doing the same thing, as it did when the Beatles took its stage.

The Beatles Shop.  The many stores and boutiques featuring Beatles memorabilia and merchandise are some of the most popular Liverpool attractions.  The Beatles Shop, located on Mathew Street, is one of the best.  You can pick up the newest knick-knacks remembering the group or invest a bit more in historically significant collectibles at the store.  This is one of the better Beatles-focused stores.  It has items at all price points and an inventory that’s quite impressive in scope.

The Magical Mystery Tour.  Hop into a vintage bus decorated to match the one the Beatles used for a tour of Liverpool’s Beatle hot spots.  The Magical Mystery Tour explores the city and Beatles’ history for two solid hours.  If you can’t leave Liverpool without driving by Penny Lane, the band members’ childhood homes and Strawberry Field, you need to buy your ticket to ride.  There are other Beatles tours in Liverpool, but this one is generally regarded as the best available.

There are many other Beatles-related Liverpool attractions ranging from the pub where John Lennon formed his first band to the Hard Day’s Night Hotel.  If you’re a Beatlemaniac, you’ll be pleased to know that Liverpool continues to honor the quartet in some truly unforgettable ways.  Visit the Beatles Story, stop by the Cavern Club, shop at the Beatles Shop and take a wild ride on the Magical Mystery Tour bus.
